Plantronics Optimizes Unified Communications Product Portfolio for Microsoft Lync 2010

Plantronics announced that its portfolio of unified communications products has been optimized for Microsoft Lync 2010. Three of its new products have been previewed at the Microsoft Lync 2010 launch event, demonstrating quality audio for Lync voice and video communications.

The three previewed products, Calisto 825, Savi 730, and Voyager PRO UC v2, provide a connected experience that will benefit business communications with Lync 2010, Microsoft's single client experience for IM, voice, and video. The Plantronics enterprise product portfolio provides a range of solutions for the wide variety of work styles, environments, and audio needs that professionals may have, and helps IT departments deploy UC solutions quickly.

Microsoft Lync aims to create a fully integrated communications experience for people working anywhere, providing a unified suite of communication tools for open information sharing, increased productivity, and improved collaboration. With the Plantronics UC portfolio optimized for Lync 2010, IT departments are given a single source for a variety of audio solutions for PCs and both mobile and desk phones. The previewed devices give users a simple and intuitive means of communication, regardless of the device they use.

Among the previewed devices are the Plantronics Calisto 825, a speakerphone for both PCs and mobile phones that manages calls between them; the Plantronics Savi: Wireless DECT USB Wideband Headsets that can connect to multiple devices but manages all calls; the Plantronics Voyager UC: Bluetooth USB Wideband Headset; and the Plantronics Blackwire: Corded USB Wideband Headsets. They will be available through authorized Plantronic resellers in 2011.
